Perfect Timing

Bamberg is prettiest in the warmer months when the sun is out, the days are mild. High season is in July and August with plenty of summer events and local holidays. If you want to avoid the crowds and enjoy good weather, come in early June.

If you don’t just want to sightsee Bamberg but enjoy local culture and live events, visit for Sandkerwa (city fair), the Beer Week (Bockbieranstich) Europe’s largest (and free) Jazz and Blues Festival, Christmas and smaller events like the Onion Festival and Weltkulturerbelauf (a marathon). Read more about details here.

Bamberg offers mild temperate climate.

You can enjoy the least amount of rainfall in April and the most in December. Though, you will not likely experience much snow at all.

July and August are the month with warmest temperatures, though some days in October can experience extraordinarily warm and sunny days.

With a guided tour! Local guides know the best ways around, what sights to see, background stories and how to best plan your routes. If you really want to do your own DIY walk, check out our Bamberg itinerary.
